About PCC

Pineridge Children’s Centre is a licensed private daycare/learning centre serving the needs of families and children from infants to twelve years of age. It was founded in the spring of 2000 in response to a growing need for childcare spaces in the Arnprior/McNab area. PCC is located in the heart of Arnprior, across from the hospital, near the Gillies Grove and the beautiful Ottawa River. PCC offers full-time placements and shared part-time placements depending on the waitlist and program needs.

Our centre partners with other care agencies to facilitate an integrated approach to meeting the needs of our children and their families. We are also proud members of the Greater Chamber of Commerce partnering with other businesses to help maintain a vibrant local economy. PCC is a keen supporter of our local hospital, CHEO, the local food bank and L’Arche Arnprior.

Pineridge Children’s Centre is enrolled in the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care System. Qualifying families will see their fees reduced annually until the $12 dollars a day is achieved.

The PCC Philosophy

image001

At Pineridge Children’s Centre, we believe that each child is lovable and capable. A child needs to be nurtured and cared for. We believe that a child must be respected as an individual with his/her own personality and character. We feel strongly that a child should enjoy childhood, to experience life and to be filled with wonder, excitement and enthusiasm.

Our centre provides a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all children, which fosters independence, self-awareness, awareness of the child’s environment and the growth of self-esteem and self-confidence as well as empathy and respect for others.

We provide a relaxed but stimulating program. We encourage communication and problem solving and promote the healthy development of each child.

The French language is introduced in the preschool program in the form of songs and spontaneous learning opportunities.

Programs Designed to Suit

Our motto, “Strong roots for life-long learning” reflects our commitment to quality care, development and learning during these early years.  This prepares our children for success both academically and personally as they grow. We believe that each child is competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. Our goals for children are consistent with the Ministry of Education pedagogy stating that Every child has a sense of belonging when he/she is connected to others and contributes to their world. Every child is developing a sense of self, health and well-being. Every child is an active and engaged learner who explores the work with body, mind, and senses. Every child is a capable communicator who expresses himself/herself in many ways.

Children enrolled at PCC are provided with two nutritious snacks and a healthy lunch each day.  The Children rest or sleep depending on their developmental needs for a maximum of two hours a day. Our beautiful playground facilitates outdoor experiences for a minimum of two hours a day (weather permitting). Activities are program specific and are based on the developmental stages of the children.

PCC works closely with Renfrew County Child Care Services to provide programming for all children including children with exceptional needs.  The daycare operates from Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Partnering for Success

We value parent input and encourage open communication to ensure we are supporting the family and meeting the needs of both parents and children.

We believe in strong, respectful and reciprocal relationships with our Pineridge families. These relationships start with regular discussions and connections with our program staff, administrative staff and director, whether in person, or by other means (e.g., notes, emails, phone conversations, posting information, learning stories, newsletters, gatherings and special events).

We are always eager to hear about how to provide the best learning experience for your child and how to work together to ensure quality. Program staff will share information with you on a regular basis.

We work closely with other service providers to ensure that there is continuity and a holistic approach to childcare services offered to the families. These include: Renfrew County and District Health Department, Renfrew County Child Care Services, the Early Years/Best Start Centre, Sprouting Speech – Speech and Language Professionals, Family Children’s Services and local Schools and School Boards.
